A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Before you
fall down a rabbit hole.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Try Tahpys as a guest for the queue, sample films and limited YouTube searches when enabled. You do not need to sign in. Sign in separately for saved feeds and account connections.
Which API keys do I need?
The guest pilot is designed for up to 7 search attempts per browser per UTC day using Tahpys’s allowance, when enabled and available. A shared site limit also applies. After that, you can use your own YouTube key in the guest tab without signing in. Saved feeds use your account’s YouTube key; indexed social search needs Brave, and AI needs an optional model-provider key.
Can I find videos posted in the past three days?
For YouTube, include a posting window in your feed request, or choose Past 3 days in this demo’s live search. Posting dates describe when a video was uploaded, not when the events in it happened. Social-search date signals come from the search index and are not verified video posting dates. The sample films are not current news.
Is Tahpys free?
The current beta has no Tahpys subscription charge. Guest searches have a limited shared allowance when enabled; sample films do not use that allowance. If you connect your own services, their quotas, API billing and AI charges apply. Future pricing has not been announced.
Where does AI help?
In the online app, connect Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic for optional AI planning and ranking of YouTube results. Gemini can also provide sampled video digests. AI may take time or fail; available results remain usable, and the app reports ranking progress. Live social results are not AI-ranked. The landing-page demo uses keyword search and no AI.
How do TikTok and Instagram searches work?
Your Brave key searches a web index for public video links. This does not search the platforms’ full catalogues, so results can differ from their own apps or be missing. No TikTok or Instagram account connection is required. Social results and their queue entries stay in the current page session; they are not saved with your YouTube feeds.
Can I watch everything inside Tahpys?
Tahpys uses official embedded players in the feed and Queue Player. Some videos may be unavailable or show a provider’s “Watch on Instagram” message because of creator, login, region or platform restrictions. In-site playback is not guaranteed. YouTube and TikTok can advance when their players report completion; Instagram requires manual Next.
Do feeds update while Tahpys is closed?
No scheduled searches run while the app is closed. Refresh your YouTube feed when you want new results. Live social discovery also runs when you create, open or refresh a feed with those sources selected and your Brave key connected; these requests use your provider allowance.
Where are my keys and feeds stored?
Guest results, queues and your optional guest key stay in tab memory. A functional cookie and anonymous daily counters limit guest searches. The signed-in app stores saved feeds and encrypted API keys in your account. YouTube queue entries stay on this device; social queue entries last only for this page session. This landing-page demo keeps its key and queue in tab memory, while the separate local download stores its configuration on your computer. See the privacy notice for details.
